Now to all of you who don't know about SalamAir, SalamAir is a small, cute, low cost airline which was established in 2016 and is based in Muscat,Oman. As of June 2019, they operate a fleet of 5 A320s and A320neos and operate daily and weekly flights to over 28 cities across Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa! SalamAir is an ambitious airline, with just 5 short-haul aircrafts, they are operating to over 28 destinations though there are a lot of complaints against the airline as well! And on the 2nd of June 2019, SalamAir had operated their inaugural flight to Kuwait City, Kuwait. The flight OV223 & OV224 will be operated daily by Airbus A320neo. OV223 Muscat to Kuwait City departing 9:20AM arriving 10:30AM OV224 Kuwait City to Muscat departing 11:15AM arriving 2:10PM The outbound flight to Kuwait is blocked at 2hr 10mins and the inbound flight is blocked at 2 hours. Now, this comes just a day after the airline had operated it's inaugural flight to Riyadh,Saudi Arabia operating the aircraft of the same type (A320neo) commencing 4x weekly flights to the capital. The launch of this route will now greatly influence the price of tickets between Kuwait City and Muscat as only two other airlines, Oman Air and Kuwait Airways had been operating the Kuwait-Muscat sector. Ofcourse, the service is the same as that of a typical low cost carrier but anyone who just wants to make a short 2 hour hop to Muscat can do so! |
